Summary:Map of Victoria showing the four million acres surveyed and under survey to be proclaimed open to selection with the passing of the Land Act, no. 145 (1862), as well as the ten million acres and more to be later released, as provided in the Act. The map also includes railways, main roads, towns with comments on sold land, occupied pastoral land as well as unstocked, inferior and unavailable lands. Classes of land grants are shown by shading. Main towns have been referenced by number on the map as shown in the accompanying table. Map displays the signatures of the President of the Board of Land and Works as well as that of the Surveyor-General. Relief shown by hachures.; In lower margin: The Hon. The President of the Board of Lands and Survey has given permission to the Messrs. Fergusson & Mitchell, Lithographers, Collins St. West, to print and publish this map on condition that no alteration or addition be made.; At head of map: . W.B.
