Summary:1. Forty-one banded penguins were recovered in the 1972-1973 summer by the members of the biological group of the 13th and 14th Japanese Antarctic Research Expeditions at four rookeries near Syowa Station; thirty-four at Ongul Kalven Island, five at Mame-zima Island, one at Rumpa Island and one at Langhovde. 2. Two banded penguins were recovered on the ice sea by the officers of the icebreaker FUJI in January and February 1973. 3. Homing percentage of banded penguins reached 60% at Ongul Kalven Island, and 57 % of them were recovered at the same nest site of colonies as the last. 4. One pair returned rookery in nine of whom had been recorded as pairs by the writer. 5. Seven adult penguins were banded by a member of the biological group of the 14th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition at Ongul Kalven Island.
