Description
Summary:A method to assess the heat exchange between sea and atmosphere is presented. The calculation is based on the salt and heat budgets of the water only. The excess heat is considered to be absorbed by the atmosphere. It is applied to a Svalbard fjord, and the heat budget at the fjord surface is computed. The heat is transferred from the fjord water to the above lying atmosphere, annual mean of 23 kJ (cm)^<-2>d^<-1>.
