Summary:Mapping the geometry of the ice sheet is fundamental to many advanced investigations, e.g., on ice dynamics, mass balance, ice – ocean interaction, ice – atmosphere interaction, and ice body sensitivity to climate change. Regarding the Filchner-Ronne-Schelfeis (FRIS; Fig.1), several research institutes from different countries carried out extensive ice thickness measurements during various field campaigns.
