Summary:A scientific team will depart from Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque aboard a NC-135 jet aircraft bound for Iceland and continental Europe to continue a long-term investigation of aerosols and water vapor in the stratosphere. Two special flights will be made to probe the stratosphere in the vicinity of the Helgafell volcano. The studies are being carried out as part of the Climatic Impact Assessment Program (CIAP).
