Summary:During an expedition with RV Polarstern (1998) a male specimen of Echinomunna horrida was collected in the supranet of an epibenthic sledge in the Weddell Sea, Antarctica. Due to an incomplete and poor description by Vanhöffen (1914) a redescription is necessary on the basis of the male from the Weddell Sea and the female syntypes from the East Antarctic.
