C-band Backscatter Measurements of Winter Sea Ice in the Weddell Sea, Antarctica

During the Winter Weddell Gyre Study, a 4.3 GHz frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FM-CW) radar scatterometer was operated from the port rail of the German ice-breaker R/V Polarstern to obtain detailed shipborne C-band backscatter measurement scans of Antarctic sea ice.
