Summary:Global warming and arctic technology advancement generate the idea of an international shipping route along Northern Sea Route (NSR). Research shows that there is a 40% distance saving possibility when transiting through NSR as compared to traditional Suez Canal. This paper conducts a feasibility study on the NSR and its future impacts as a shipping route. This is a group project where three feasibility studies will be conducted along with their relevant future impacts. They are Navigational Feasibility, Economical Feasibility and Political Feasibility. The future impacts are shipbuilding, shipping route and the environment. This paper covers the navigable feasibility of NSR along with the future impact of shipbuilding. Bachelor of Science (Maritime Studies)
