Summary:The world has in its entirety some straits, channels, seas and others, which are part of not only the landscape, but also the political / strategic contribution of one or more countries. One of these straits is the Bering Strait, located between Russia and the United States. The objective is to expose and compare the importance of the Bering Strait from the 1990s to the present day. The methodological procedures will include bibliographic survey and critical and comparative analysis. Thus, the study proposed here is justified by the importance of proceeding with knowledge about territories that have a different dynamics in relationships and desires, and about the supposed importance of the area. It can be seen how the previous applications of geopolitics still apply today. O mundo tem em sua totalidade alguns estreitos, canais, mares e dentre outros, que fazem parte não somente da paisagem, mas também do aporte político/estratégico de um ou mais países. Um desses estreitos é o Estreito de Bering, localizado entre a Rússia e os Estados Unidos. Tem-se o objetivo de expor e comparar a importância do Estreito de Bering desde os anos 1990 até os dias atuais. Os procedimentos metodológicos abarcarão levantamento bibliográfico e análise crítica e comparativa. Desse modo, o estudo aqui proposto justifica-se pela importância de se proceder de conhecimentos sobre territórios que tem uma dinamicidade diversa em relações e desejos e, sobre a suposta importância da área. Pode ser visto como as aplicações de geopolítica anteriores ainda se aplicam nos dias atuais.
