On tape, poem is recited, but author comments that it can be sung to the tune of "Lamplighting Time in the Valley". Avery, "Poems from a Newfoundland Village", p. 38. In taped interview all three verses are recited but interspersed with comments about the decline of Sunday as a "holy day" to a mere "holiday" and the fact that children seldom have "Sunday clothes" anymore.
