Description
Summary:Concrete root cellar located in Placentia built by John Wyse approximately 1940s. Discussed by Elaine Murray in audio interview. The lack of earth surrounding the cellar foundation makes this cellar unusual and less effective. After being unused for a number of years, it was used by Elaine Murray to store vegetables grown in Placentia community garden in 2010 but did not preserve produce as well as was hoped. It is currently being used as a shed to store paint, construction materials, and other miscellaneous items. Interior measures 1.45 x 1.9 m and is 1.65 m in height. Exterior door opens to 1.85 m long hallway to second door which opens to cellar. "
