Summary:Collapsing root cellar located on Greens Rd. in Upper Island Cove. Originally owned by William Mercer (1868-1925) and wife Sueanna. It was passed to their son Leander Mercer (1916-2003), and then to Leander’s son Howard Mercer (1933-2004) and his wife Ruby, who currently owns the cellar. Approximate dimension of the cellar are 2.5 m x 3 m. It was originally constructed with rock and renovated to include concrete interior.
