Description
Summary:For over two hundred years six generations of the Fahey family have farmed and made a life on a parcel of land in Chapel’s Cove, Conception Bay. By 1801 Irish immigrant Edward Fahey had cleared 9 acres. The family fished, produced root vegetables and butter and milk for sale, and sold livestock to other settlers and the government for breeding. Today, Linda and Bernard Lewis produce fruit and vegetables, and raise llamas, sheep and goats to sell fibre and create textiles in Linda’s workshop. Poster created by the Agricultural History Society of Newfoundland and Labrador, circa 2006-2008.
