He also shares a ghost story. 00:06- 02:06 he was born in Carbonear in March 1915, he has three brothers, he went to the Salvation Army school in Carbonear, it was a two-room school, he did not get enough opportunity to get good education, then it was a tough time so he had to work for living, he had a favorite teacher in his school, he studied till grade ten; 02:12- 05: 30 he worked in an automobile garage in Carbonear, he received fifty dollars per month, he got married in 1938, moved to St. John’s after his marriage, then worked in St. John’s, worked in Corner Brook and Grand Falls for many years, there he worked as a garage operator, in 1950s he was associated with the engineers in reserve army, after three years he moved back to Carbonear, built a house in the Carbonear; 05:46- 08:47 when he was grown up his father worked in Carbonear, they bought clothing and groceries from the local shops, his mother knitted the clothes for them, they grew their own vegetables, he grew cabbage, potatoes, tomatoes, green peas, and carrots in his garden, they did not have horse, his mother took care of the vegetables and gardens, his father worked till six in the evening, when his father went back to the work in the morning then his mother used to go to the garden and took care of the vegetables; 08:51- 11:49 he played hockey and sometimes footballs in his childhood, his mother used to heat up the oil and rub it on his chest when he had cold, there was no car then, horse was used as the transport, once his father was seriously ill and they had to go to the doctor using horse carts, they had to wait the whole night and when it was morning they went to the doctor; 11:57- 15:47 he could play guitar, keyboard and accordion when he was young, he did not attend any dance programs, he wrote songs once, he shares a true ...
