Ensuite il parle de sa vie, du travail qu’il a fait, et de conteurs qu’il a connu dans les camps où il travaillait. Ils parlent ensemble de la mort d’Albert « Ding-Ding » Simon, et de la famille de Josie Lacosta [Costard]. Ils parlent de « graviers » et de « Jack-o-lanterns ».
