Description
Summary:buck n A game played with a long stick , used as a bat, and a short stick - which was used to be batted. The small stick was tilted against a rock, then the batter would hook the small stick and flick it into the air; as it fell down it would be batted with the long stick. When and where the little stick landed it was measured from that point to the place where the rock was. It was measured by the number of lengths of the longer stick. This would give you a certain number eg. 15 or 20. That would be your first score. After each turn was completed the winner was named, that is, the person who batted the stick [over] See cited quotation.
