This term Wesleyan Kettle came into existence because many Wesleyans in Bay Roberts were accustomed to getting all heated up about church matters, and at one moment church meant everything to them, but maybe in a matter of days they drifted from the church again. So one moment they were hot the next moment cold. 'As Wesleyan kettle assuch is a little tin kettle which holds about five cups of water and like the old Wesleyan churchmen heats up quite quickly and cools off rather quickly.'
