However I figured that if I were to use staves I must have a _stave_ _joiner_. I studied one belonging to a cooper and made one like it. I could see that if the head must go into a barrel, the chimes must be _reemed_ out so I designed and made a crose. I improvised other tools of the trade. Those included truss hoops according to size. I bought a cooper's adze and a pair of compasses, the latter for making out heads for the drums. PRINTED ITEM G.M.
