water whelps
water n Fishermen at Francois wear brass chain around their arms (wrists) to "keep from getting" water whelps. There doesn't seem to be any set number of "turns" of this chain that should be worn because I can remember seeing some fishermen with four or five "turns"...

The practical explanation why this is so affective given me by one old fishermen ( ---) was; the "Varny-grease" that deve when the brass comes in contact with salt water dries up any that have started to form. . . .
