| Summary: | tawt n "Your tawts are too far aft" This expression is used by most of the fishermen around Fogo and in particular our next door neighbour from 1955-58. he was a fisherman of the finest class. The expression means 'you are wrong', 'you are mistaken' and is really a play on the word 'thought.' Instead of saying you are thinking wrongly, incorrectly etc. one would reply and say 'your tawts are too far aft."
