Description
Summary:water n . . . "the water dogs" - black, smooth-haired beasts with massive forequarters, otter-like trails, and webbed feet - dogs almost as much acquatic animals as they were animals of the land. Nobody knows where they came from or when they came, but they seem to have been on the Newfoundland coasts when history first begins to speak about the island. It is from this aboriginal stock, remnants of which still exist upon the Sou'west Coast, that the famous breeds known as the Labrador and the Newfoundland were developed. PRINTED ITEM G. M.
