| Summary: | wind Windmills, of the kind used to pump water from underground wells on prairie farms, were used in Lady Cove until the middle 1950's; the last one was dismantled at this time. In Lady Cove they were called "windchargers." They were used to charge radio batters or to generate electricity for a private home. Very few used them for electricity, no one used them to pump water.
