Mr Brown tells the story of how he took them over to see old Billy Rabbits; of course the "broke" sugar and the hot water and spirits were immediately produced, and a toast had to be proposed. "Bloody decks to en," said Billy, as he raised his glass. Addison was horrified. "Really, my dear sir, as a minister of religion, I could not drink to such a sanguinary wish as that."
