Description
Summary:ramping _ramping_ - Often when we went to bed, and especially if any of our cousins was sleeping with us, we would most likely carry on , jumping from one bed to another and from the dressing table onto the bed, throwing pillows, shouting and sometimes crying . Mom would probably sing out from downstairs telling us to go to sleep. [reverse] We would settle down for a minute and would be at it again . She'd say, "Stop ramping up there or I'll come up." After a while Dad would call out "Get in bed or don't have me come up to you". We would giggle for a bit and tell each other to try to ramp more quietly . We'd probably close the door. Next thing we'd hear dad coming and each made a scamper for the bed . He'd have his leather belt off or in process of taking it off, saying that if he hears another sound he would use it. Sometimes he smacked my brother ( 1 yr . younger ) on the bottom fairly hard and the rest of us were quiet for fear of getting the same . After that we were either too tired or too afraid to budge again . Yes DICT CEN.
