Description
Summary:rake * n Older folk would, if they saw today's modern style homes, probably describe them as being "all rake for run", meaning that everything is open to view. If someone were to come into an outport home in earlier days and see all doors standing open and perhaps some of the furniture not in its usual place, he might say the place is "all rake for run". Sometimes it might be used to refer to a style of dressing. If someone's hair were in disarray, if a shirt tail were not neatly tucked in, if stocking were wrinkled, etc. that person might be referred to as being "all rake for the run."
