Description
Summary:underrun v Then there was the type of fishing called "underruning the gear." Some- times the vessel would anchor on the Banks and each dory with its two men would leave the mother ship (after drawing a course) and set twenty or so lines in different courses. After setting the gear each dory would re- turn to the ship and the men would have their meal. Afterwards, they would take sufficient bait, go and underrun the gear, and come back to the vessel with their fish. This type of bank fishing would be done mostly in the summer and late spring months. DNE-cit GMS Sept 73 Used Sup Used Sup Used Sup
