Description
Summary:quarter n A friend helped me take it from the boat there and after it was culled I shipped one quarter and eleven pounds of large merchantable; one quarter and twelve punds of small merchantable; two quarters and four pounds of tom cod merchantable; six quintals and nineteen pounds of No. 2 small and three quintals and sixteen pounds of No. 2 large, making a total of ten quintals, two quarters and six pounds. This made a total of seventy tubs or 35 barrels of codfish we caught from October 6th to November 6th, 1945. We were fishing fourteen days. The codfish remained in salt until the spring of 1946. NOV 1980 GMS Nov 80 -or maybe tub or barrel or barrow Fascinating! He shifts easily from _tub_, _barrel_, _quintal_, _pound_ (of saltbulk fish).
