The two rocks were placed so that the shorter stick could span the distance between them. .[the person who was "in"] proceeded to flick the shorter stick, which was resting on the rocks, as far as he could with the longer stick. After doing this he placed the longer stick on the rock in the former place of the short stick. These sticks, by the way, were both termed "piddley sticks".the person who was now "out" picked up the shorter stick, and standing in the place where it had landed after being flicked, he threw the shorter stick in an attempt to knock the longer stick from its position. If he succeeded he was immediately "in" and the other fellow was"out". G. M.
