Description
Summary:owl From Sandy Cove and northeastward one can see rows of _owl_ _trees_ or _owl_ _bushes_ along the open shoreline and the rise beyond. During the winter the Great Snowy Owl migrates from the Labrador and fishes on the New- foundland shore. Small trees are cut down and placed in open areas along the shore. They are shored up at the base with rocks and sticks and their branches are trimmed leaving a few at the top which are cut back and tied together to form a level bed upon which horizontal twigs are secured. On top of this platform a small animal trap is placed and secured to the tree. When the owl alights its feet are caught in the trap . . . PRINTED ITEM DNE-cit W. J.
