Description
Summary:slapper CHARM - HORSE HAIRS. When we were in school in early 50's, the teacher would have a large wooden pointer, 'a _slapper_', for punishing the children. If we were bad we usually got 5 - 8 cracks on the palm of the hands. If one could get two black horsehairs and one white one from horse's tail or mane, have them pickled for two weeks, then put them on your hand with the two black covering the white, as you took your punishment. This charm had the power to break off the pointer and your punishment was over. DICT CEN.
