Summary:squalling _Archibuteo lagopus sancti-johannis_ (Gmel.). American Rough-legged Hawk. Both light and dark phases, with their eggs, young, and adults, collected at Fort Chimo. Apparently more abundant on eastern and northern shores than on the southern portions of Labrador. Downy young were also obtained, of the black phase, July 17, 1882, at Davis Inlet.
