Story JAN. 18 1989 WK WK the skeptic: Perhaps this native is right, My listening to townies and to bay visitors to SJ shows _bay_, _bayman_, and the rare but spreading _bay boy_ (maybe in literature) does not = 1) a person not from St. John's or 2) a person from some of the coasts where there is no bay, spec. the Southern Shore. I have asked if a Southern Shore person would be annoyed if called a bayman, and answer was yes. Query: overall has bayman the aura of Protestant?
