Summary:madre [St. Pierre] The most common birds on the coasts of Saint Pierre and Newfoundland are the _madre_, the _gode_, and the _calculo_. The eggs of the _madre_ are white speckled with black; those of the _gode_ are greenish speckled with black, and those of the _calculo_ are brown with darker spots.
