The development of the figure is further confused by the fact that the predominant pronunciation in Newfoundland is ['bu: ,baeger] which suggests that the second element of the compound may have been confused with the root _bag_,87 although the /E/ and /ae/ phonemes in Newfoundland sometimes appear liable to confusion as _bag_ may be pronounced [baeg], [be:g] or [beig].88 Yes (cont'd card (b) Used I and Sup Used I and Sup 4 Not used This is the reverse of B_4891. It is the first in a seven-card series, from cards B_4891 to B_4897. Database cannot properly reproduce phonetic symbols on lines 8, 10, and 11.
