Summary:blow v Blowin the Puddin out a the Pot: I have no idea of the origin of the custom. On Christmas Day at exactly twelve o'clock the pudding would be taken out of the pot. He would go outside and when the woman was ready to take out the pudding she would shout "Ready" and instantly you heard the shot - gun blast.
