Description
Summary:angishore n The word "Angishore" is not heard very often these days although we have often wondered what it means and where it came from. Still, from local usage, we do not associate its meaning with hunger al- though it could be used to mean such. As far as we can gather an "angis- hore" is a person, not a personification. For example, when someone (esp- ecially a child) is doing something he should not be doing one would say, "Stop that, you angishore." Again, if one should suffer a setback he is referred to as an angishore. It was only last week that a local resident lost his fishing boat, his only means of supporting himself and his family. As no insurance was carried it was a severe loss, a double loss. People in referring to the incident said "Poor angishore." Not located. PRINTED ITEM DNE-cit G.M.
