| Summary: | set n The deep-sea fishery has a long history but it was just about a century ago that new life was given to a declining bank fishery by the intro- duction by the French of the set trawl. This constituted of a very long line [_sic_ WK] to which short and hooked lines were attached at spaced intervals. The hooks were baited, the trawl line paid out and marked by buoys, and the set periodically taken up to remove the fish and re-bait the hooks for another setting.
