Summary:knit v n_t twine into nets. [PT]or [PT] Bob,could you gather some spoken cites for us andnot prejudice the speaker into saying either _knit_ or _net_? Our evidence so far is completely ambiguous. Every argument for _knit_ or _net_ has counter arguments. Of course there also is the possibility that both knit and net are used by different speakers, with the internalized notion of 'using a knitted needle' for the first, and 'making a net' for the second. Yes we do have both pronunciations for (fish)net, the noun.
