jiggin vbl n The common method of fishing among the Inuit and Settler families was jigging with a hand-line from a flat or a punt. The cod were so plentiful that they could be jigged anywhere in open water. The best jigging grounds were shallow areas along the shores of the coastal islands, but the cod in deep water tended to be larger.
