Description
Summary:inukshuks With reference to your note regarding cairns, the only term I have ever heard of for those things is _rocky man_. There are a number of these off southern Labrador which may be navigational markers although one such cairn contained the broken bones of a caribou and a bright red pigment, perhaps a vermillion. In northern Labrador, of course, there may be some _inukshuks_ and I know there are small stone piles that mark old Inuit overland winter trails. This is about all I can think of at the moment but if something else comes to mind I will let you know.
