Summary:ice n [The _Terra Nova_] was built at Dundee, Scotland, in 1884.Her first trip to the Antarctic was in 1904.The British Admiralty fitted out a relief expedition [for Scott and Shackleton],and chartered the _Terra Nova_ as the roughest and toughest ice breaker to be had. The _Terra Nova_ brought Scott and Shackleton back in 1905.In 1914 Bowring Brothers bought her from the Admiralty, and ever since then she has been a Newfoundland sealer.
