Summary: | horse n. A fungi round and around 2 1/2 to 3" in diameter, dark brown in color, resembling a dried out potato and filled with a black powdery substance was used by kids growing up in Corner Brook during 1950's & 1960's as play "bombs". They would break open on impact when thrown and the powdry substance inside would make a dark purplish cloud. Most kids who used these in play would call them "farts" probably due to the pungent rotten smell emitted by them when they were broken.
