Summary: | gaze Would appreciate a copy of No. _6_ With reference to _gazes_ in your last number, this is and was common in the Beachy Cove area of Bonavista Bay. Fishermen, especially those who made use of the shotgun, had built gazes along the shore behind which they hid and awaited the approach of ducks/drakes/gulls/loons, etc. These were built of rocks piled on rocks, assisted sometimes by a clump of trees. There were called gazes. There is a high cliff overlooking the cove called "the gaze". For years we had a garden atop of it which we called the gaze garden. From this garden we could get a good sweep of the shore. NOV. 9 1978 Used I and Sup Not used This card is attached to a blank card by paperclip.
