| Summary: | fishing This boat began to be widely used about 1925 when the two-stemmed boat was becoming less popular. However, there is no great difference in this boat and the two-stemmed except that it has a somewhat square stern and tended to be larger, in length, width and depth. It was used for exactly the same type of work - herring, cod, salmon and lobster fishery. These boats were powered by gasoline engines which ranged in power depending upon the size of the boat.
