Summary:fish A square box, open on one side and closed on three sides. Those boxes are kept [-]in shacks[-] on a stage, in rows by the walls, where fishermen salt down each successive day's fish and keep them through various stages of drying. Slider-boards are placed in the open sides as fish are packed in, and there is a cover on top which is locked by night. The dimensions are 6' long, 6' high,/ and 4' wide, and each box holds four to six quintals of fish. [1] A small box on the _stage head_ having a _slider board_ and one open side.
