Summary:duck n . . . is played out of doors . . . any number within reason could play, and the only thing necessary was a rock usually about four inches in diameter . . . which was called a "duck". . . . The person who was "on" had to place his "duck" on a larger rock called the "mammy". . . . The purpose of the game was for the remaining players to attempt to knock the duck off the mammy, thus allowing them to pick up their individual ducks and return home.
