But I never caught him in a bold-faced lie, and sometimes the far-fetched stories have proved truthful. An example of Issac's cuffers: 'Issac told of carrying coal all night after working on the ice all day, of contests in which men would skin thirteen seals in one hour, and of men who could skin three seals in three minutes'.
