Place toast on top of mixture so that it floats, on top of the toast sprinkle three or four packs of powdered yeast. Let mixture stand for ten days in an open crock or wooden barrel in a warm place, then strain and bottle. The longer it stands in bottles the better (stronger?) it is. DICT. CEN.
