Summary:New Point Leamington: A tale of squid, sawmills and Abitibi -Price. Darren Rowsell, 16, of Point Lemington, attends Point Lemington Central High. "It's a good year for the squid", says darren. "My father, mother and I made over $400 in only a few weeks." The Rowsells, like most of the residents in the area, were fortunate enough to have taken advantage of a price increase that went from $1.40 a pound to $2.00 a pound, because of buyer competition in the area. Darren has been at squid for the last three years and considers the 17 hour workday during the season well worth the effort.
