Summary:New All aboard for Argentia. Top of page. They are clipped to the rails by railway employees to warn approaching trains of a bridge washout, track repair, etc. for stopping ahead. When the train runs over them they explode with a force able to lift a ton in weight, and if a child were to drop a heavy rock on one, the results would be horrible to imagine, let alone what could happen to the train that is deprived of its warning. They must be used, because there are many areas of the track where trains cannot be reached by radio, and then again, a sectionman's radio could be out of order.
